Film and History Break
Join Ian Garden for a four day Film and History break entitled “Spies, Lies and Entertainment -Film and Media Propaganda during World War Two"
This activity takes place at the Green Park Hotel, Pitlochry from Sunday 17th February until the morning of Thursday the 21st February 2019.
The fear of spies and fifth columnists dominated much of the thinking of the Allied and German authorities during WW2 and this was reflected in the large number of spy related films produced by both sides during the war years.
Following the success of his 2018 Film and History break, Ian has produced another enthralling film and lecture course that provides more examples of how the truth behind virtually any incident from the war could be twisted for propaganda purposes.
Ian regularly gives talks and lectures on various aspects of war film propaganda both at book festivals and to a wide range of institutions and organisations in the UK and overseas. More..
Each year, Ian runs a six week film course at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh on a variety of topics related to War Film Propaganda. . Further Information
